STANWAY John Vincent Peacefully on November 16th, 2017 at the RSUH, John aged 85 years of Cheadle.
Dearly loved husband of Kath and the late Joan, much loved dad of Jonathan and Rachel, loving father-in-law of Adele and sadly missed by Stephen, treasured grandad of Ben, Molly, Joe, Ella and Lewis, dearest brother-in-law of Brian and Joy and a dear uncle.
John will be greatly missed by his many friends.
I first met Rev John J Stanway in 1985 at a ministers meeting in Sandbach, Cheshire, I spoke at both the afternoon and evening meetings after which John came and spoke to me and invited me to speak at his church in Cheadle.
From our first meeting there was an immediate affinity between the two of us, which grew into a long and lasting friendship.
In our early years of getting to know one another John was always seeking to promote my ministry by introducing me to many pastors and churches in the Staffordshire area for whom I had the honour of speaking over many years.
In all the many years that I knew John, which included staying at his home, and ministering for him at Cheadle, sharing meetings together, and John coming up to Manchester to minister at my church, plus hundreds of hours speaking on the telephone, we never had one cross word or any disagreement whatsoever.
John was a very gifted minister and a man of great integrity, he was a man who always put others first. John was one of the most anointed ministers that I have ever known and had a wonderful healing and miracle ministry. He moved in the "Gifts of the Holy Spirit" with a great sensitivity and a deep love for those needing his ministry.
John was a great enabler and loved to pass on his experience to as many young ministers as he could. It was a great honour as the Principal of Faith Bible College & Training Centre to award John an honorary Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies in recognition of his faithful ministry over many years.
His legacy might not be immediately evident to many, but his true and lasting legacy can and will be clearly seen in the lives all those he touched - his children, Jonathan and Rachel, his wife Kath, his grandchildren, and indeed in all the lives of those who he spiritually enriched, among whom I am honoured and blessed to include myself.
John will be greatly missed by myself, my family, my church, and indeed by all who knew and loved him.
